Road maintenance crews were required to intervene on Wednesday morning in three mountain passes on DN 18, spreading anti-skid material to combat ice, spokesperson of the Maramures Prefecture Dan Buca reported.
'Employees of the National Roads Section acted with five vehicles and spread 15 tonnes of anti-skid material to prevent and combat ice on DN 18, in Gutai Pass, on Hera Hill and in Prislop Pass. On county road sections, seven vehicles were deployed and 52 tonnes of anti-skid material were spread to prevent and combat ice,' Dan Buca said.
According to him, the carriageway on national and county road sections is clean and partially wet.
The spokesperson of the Maramures Prefecture also specified that visibility is good and all flights scheduled to operate at Maramures International Airport will run according to the timetable set by the airlines.
