AGERPRES special correspondent Oana Ghita reports: Romania and Poland are two large countries on the Eastern Flank and, regardless of who won in Poland, they feel the same great threat from Russia and are obliged to collaborate, President Nicusor Dan declared on Monday.
He participated in the B9 and Nordic Countries Summit in the Lithuanian capital city.
"Unlike Romania, where two weeks ago we had a competition between a pro-Western candidate and a candidate who very often repeated Russia's narratives, in Poland we had a competition between a pro-European integration candidate and a candidate for greater independence of Poland from European structures, but both firmly anti-Russian. So from this perspective, our collaboration will not be difficult," said Nicusor Dan.
Asked whether he congratulated the president-elect of Poland, he replied: "I congratulated Mr. Duda [Andrzej - the current president], who is from the same party."
