Romania clinches eight medals at 11th Beach Wrestling World Championships in Turkey

Romanian athletes swept eight medals - four golds, one silver and three bronzes - at the Beach Wrestling World Championship in Sarigerme (Turkey), informează news.ro.

The Romanian women's team ended on the top position in the nations' rankings with a bunch of 7 medals, as follows: Stefania Priceputu (50 kg), Kristza Incze (60 kg), Adina Popescu (70 kg) and Catalina Axente (+70 kg) - gold medallists; Maria Cioclea (50 kg), Beatrice Dukov (70 kg) and Diana Vlasceanu (+70 kg) - bronze. 

In the men's competition, Rares Chintoan won the silver medal at the +90 kg class. 

Romania fielded a delegation 24 of athletes. 

The results count for the qualification for the Beach Wrestling World Championships next year in San Diego.
