The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) strongly condemns the rocket attacks by Hamas against Israel, including against the civilian population, along with terrorist infiltrations and hostage-taking, MAE said in a press statement released on Saturday.
MAE expresses its deep regret for the victims of these attacks, sending condolences to the bereaved families and wishing speedy recovery to the injured.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs underlines the sovereign right of the State of Israel to self-defense. We want to reiterate the condemnation of terrorism in all its forms of manifestation," reads the MAE statement.
The Israeli army declared a state of war following Saturday's massive attacks on Israel from the Palestinian Gaza Strip.
Before that, the leader of the armed wing of the Hamas movement announced the launch of an operation - "Al-Aqsa Flood" - against Israel, launching hundreds of rockets from the Gaza Strip on Israeli territory.
