Romania's women's national football team defeated Bulgaria 3-0 (1-0) on Tuesday evening at Slavia Stadium in Sofia in Group C4 of the 2025 UEFA Women's Championship - WEURO 2025 qualifiers.
Romania won through goals scored by Stefania Vatafu (39) from a free kick, Cristina Carp (51) and Andrea Herczeg (79).
On Friday, in Bucharest, Romania had only won 1-0.
Romania, with four consecutive wins, is leading the group with 12 points, followed by Armenia, 6 points, Bulgaria, 3 points, Kazakhstan, 3 points. The Romanians still need one point to be promoted to the B League.
Romania will play their last matches in July, on 12 July away to Kazakhstan and on 16 July at home to Armenia.
The top two finishers in the League A groups (places 1 and 2) will qualify directly for the final tournament in July 2025, joining host country Switzerland (who will compete in League B, although their direct qualification is assured). The remaining seven places will be decided in two play-off rounds, scheduled for October and November/December.
