Romanian tennis player Simona Halep, world's No.1, was included by the ESPN in a compiled list of the 20 most dominant athletes of 2018.
"This was the year 27-year-old Halep finally broke through, winning her first major, the French Open, after falling one set short in the Australian Open final. She began and ended the year as the world's No. 1 player, notching a 46-8 record and three tournament championships and did so with the use of one of the greatest return games in all of tennis. Halep employed her prodigious biceps to break serve 49.6 percent of the time, tops in the WTA. She was lethal with her own serve too, notching 108 aces. But her wire-to-wire dominance carved her spot on this list," according to the ESPN.
US gymnast Simone Biles, who won her 4th all-around world title, winning four titles in Doha and totalising six medals has the highest rating of the list compiled by ESPN.
