Former Prime Minister Florin Citu considers that Romania should not accept a compromise or a partial solution regarding its bid to join the Schengen Area, told Agerpres.
"THAT'S ENOUGH! Romania must not accept a compromise or a partial solution. Any compromise or partial solution means that we have lost again. Romania DESERVES to be a full-rights Schengen member. Enjoying the same rights as Germany, France, the Netherlands, Austria etc.," the former Liberal leader wrote on Facebook on Thursday.
The current situation of the Schengen Area and the possible enlargement of the EU free movement area by the admission of Croatia, Romania and Bulgaria are on the agenda of the meeting of the EU Home Affairs Ministers meeting in Brussels this Thursday. Among others, they are set to examine migration routes and the situation of Ukrainian refugees.
