Starting from January 2025, Romania will take over the position of commander of the EUFOR Althea operation, in the theater of operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, states a press release from the Presidential Administration sent on Thursday, after the meeting of the Supreme Council for the National Defence (CSAT).
According to the cited source, the members of the Council analyzed and approved the Romanian armed forces that can be made available for participation in missions and operations outside the territory of the Romanian state in 2025.
"Our country will take over the position of commander of the EUFOR Althea operation, in the theater of operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, starting from January 2025, for a period of 12 months," the press release reads.
