Romania ranks first in the region by orders for Halloween-themed products, and October 31 is the day that sees the most pumpkin pie orders, data released on Friday by quick-commerce platform Glovo shows.
According to the cited source, Romanians ordered twice as many Halloween-themed products, from pumpkin pie to decorative pumpkins, costumes and scented candles. Also, the demand for Halloween products from specialized stores and supermarkets was more than twice as high in 2024 compared to 2023, and the trend keeps steady in 2025. Users are increasingly choosing to quickly order costumes, masks, figurines and decorative candles directly from the application, transforming their homes into themed spaces.
Among the most sought-after pumpkin products ordered through the online platform, pie remains the most popular choice, representing approximately 21% of all orders in this category. Next in line are pumpkin strudel, pumpkin seeds, pumpkin cream soup and modern variants such as coconut-flavored pumpkin soup, preferred by users looking for international recipes.
The busiest times when these products are ordered are between 11:00 and 12:00, followed by a second peak of orders between 18:00 and 19:00.
At a regional level, Romania ranks first by orders for costumes, masks and other Halloween-themed products, with Friday being the day when most orders containing pumpkin-based products are placed, followed by Wednesday and Saturday.
The Halloween of 2024 was the busiest day of the year for themed orders, with a record number of deliveries nationwide.
When it comes to seasonal products, Bucharest and Constanta dominate the rankings, followed by the cities of Brasov, Iasi and Craiova with the most frequent orders of pumpkin-based dishes or products.
Glovo is a platform that connects users with companies and couriers, offering on-demand services from local restaurants, grocers and supermarkets, as well as various specialty stores.
