Romania vs Israel 1-1, in qualifiers of European Under-17 Football Championship

Romania's national team drew 1-1 (0-0) with Israel's team on Wednesday evening in St-Paul les Dax (France) in the first match of Group 9 of the first phase of the 2026 UEFA European Under-17 Championship qualifiers.

The Romanian team, in the official debut match of coach Mircea Diaconescu, opened the scoring through Andrei Niculcea (min. 63), the midfielder of Rapid Bucharest.

Israel equalized through Idan Dadia (min. 82), eight minutes after entering the field.

In the other match of the group, France outclassed Azerbaijan 8-0, with the guests playing from the 66th minute in numerical inferiority.

On Saturday, October 11, at 4:00 pm,, Romania will face France, and on Tuesday, October 14, also at 4:00 pm, they will play against Azerbaijan (both in Capbreton).

The top two teams in the group will continue in League A of this age category.
