Romanian and Bulgarian firefighters are holding joint training sessions in Videle and Craiova this October, based on a partnership agreement, a release by the Teleorman Emergency Management Inspectorate informs.
"Based on the Romania - Bulgaria Partnership Agreement for the joint training of operational personnel, sealed as part of the project 'Enhancing the efficiency of joint emergency response actions (STREAM - RO-BG-351)', financed under the Interreg V-A Romania - Bulgaria Cross-border Cooperation Program (...), two joint training sessions for firefighters from the two countries are taking place between October 13 - 17 and October 27 - 31. The activities take place at the Craiova Training and Specialty Training Center (ISU Dolj) and at the Firefighters' Training and Specialty Training Range of the Videle Fire Department (ISU Teleorman)," the release said.
Five firefighters from Bulgaria and 10 rescuers from the emergency inspectorates of Teleorman, Calarasi and Dolj counties were present in Videle on Thursday for theoretical training on firefighting and practical exercises, a clear conclusion of the session being that, in order to increase the safety of the citizens and communities, rescuer training must be a permanent activity.
