The Romanian Lottery has transferred RON 1.5 million to the Romanian Olympic Committee (COSR) to support the Romanian Olympic team, the company announced in a press release on Wednesday.

In May 2024, the Romanian Lottery released Team Romania lottery tickets in order to support the Romanian Olympic team at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, and this week it transferred the proceeds to secure funding for the Romanian Olympic Team.

The Team Romania lottery tickets offered a chance to all Romanians to contribute to the funding of the Romanian Olympic team and thus to support the efforts of the country's athletes in this international competition as a premise for promoting Romania's sports and image in the world.

"The sale of Team Romania lottery tickets in record time confirms that the project was a great success and I would like to thank all those who were actively involved and, at the same time, all Romanians who understood that that way they can be with the Romanian Olympic team," Romanian Lottery General Manager Ionut-Valeriu Andrei is quoted as saying.

The Romanian Lottery was founded in 1906 with the aim of creating the necessary funds to finance projects of national public interest. Romanian sports, both amateur and professional, is one of the areas that benefits from the support of the Romanian Lottery.
