The Romanian Post National Company makes its entire infrastructure available for the collection and distribution of donated humanitarian aid to the people affected by the crisis in Ukraine, according to a press release of this institution.
Humanitarian aid will be collected from established centres in the postal network.
Donations can be made in the form of products in the following categories: non-perishable food (water, cans, packaged food, etc.); hygiene products (diapers, disinfectant wipes, toilet paper, absorbents, etc.); clothing and footwear (women/men/children, thermal clothing, gloves, backpacks, shoes in good condition/new, etc.); support (pillows, tents, mattresses, cutlery, binoculars, folding beds, high capacity portable batteries, walkie-talkie stations, radio and reception stations, thermal imaging cameras, etc.); heating and lighting products (tents, thermal blankets, sleeping bags, electric or other types of heating radiators, flashlights, candles, lamps, etc.); medical equipment to support the injured (first aid kit, folding wheelchairs and walking frames for people with locomotor disabilities, canes, etc.).
In order to make the collection process more efficient, the Romanian Post requires donors to sort the products separately for each of these categories and to pack them according to the model of a package sent through the courier service, Agerpres.ro informs.
Citizens or NGOs wishing to send humanitarian aid to Ukraine have at their disposal the county centres established for this campaign, which will take over the parcels. In these centres, the donated products will be loaded into the cars of the Romanian Post and will be transported to the four border crossing points with Ukraine. From there, the products will be taken over by the Ukrainian Post - Ukrposhta and distributed further.
