Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies and Social Democratic Party (PSD) leader Sorin Grindeanu will meet US Ambassador to Romania Darryl Nirenberg on Tuesday, according to Agerpres.
The meeting is scheduled at 10:15, at the Palace of Parliament.
New US Ambassador to Romania Darryl Nirenberg began his mandate last week. On 3 March, he presented the letters of credence to President Nicusor Dan, within a ceremony which took place at the Cotroceni Palace.
The new US ambassador said that the US and Romania will continue to strengthen security, expand economic and energy cooperation and promote freedom and prosperity.
According to a release of the US diplomatic mission, the ambassador expressed his deep honor to serve as a representative of the US to one of its closes allies and strategic partners.
He reaffirmed the commitment to strengthen nearly 30 years of solid bilateral cooperation in the areas of defence, security, intelligence sharing, law enforcement and economic partnership. Moreover, Ambassador Darryl Nirenberg underscored the importance of further strengthening educational and cultural ties between the two nations.
