The Romanian servicemen who were wounded in October in Afghanistan and who were treated at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center will be brought to Romania, on Thursday, from Germany, with an aircraft of the Romanian Air Forces, the National Defence Ministry (MApN) informs, according to AGERPRES.

The military aircraft will land around 15:30, local time, at the 90th air transport base in Otopeni, just north of Bucharest.

According to the MApN, the servicemen will be admitted to the Multidisciplinary center for medical assistance for servicemen wounded in theaters of operation of the Dr. Carol Davila Emergency Military University Hospital, where they will be evaluated by a medical committee.

Depending on the result of clinical and paraclinical investigation results, the patients will receive specialty medical treatment, psychological assistance and counseling and post-op neuro-motor recuperation programs, adapted and individualized for each case, the MApN informs.

Four servicemen of the Golden Lions 191st Force Protection Battalion were wounded in an IED attack that took place on October 21, during a patrol mission in their area of responsibility in the Kandahar region of Afghanistan.

The Romanian servicemen were traveling in a convoy of MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected) vehicles, the IED being set off as the last vehicle in the column passed.
