Over three-quarters of Romanians (76%) see Artificial Intelligence (AI) as an opportunity for the economy and society, although half of them also recognize risks, adopting a balanced position regarding the development of this type of technology, informs Agerpres.

According to a recent survey on the perception of Romanians on AI, conducted by RoCoach and Novel Research, Romanians' optimism regarding the opportunities brought by artificial intelligence is nevertheless doubled by a considerable dose of concern.

Thus, more than a third of respondents (35.7%) anticipate that AI will mainly lead to job losses, even if new types of jobs will also appear. Another 42% believe in a balanced impact: the disappearance of some roles or jobs, but the emergence of others in a similar proportion, while only 11% believe that AI will generate more jobs than it will eliminate, the survey's data shows.

"Reluctance regarding the impact of AI on jobs increases with age and is more pronounced among people with pre-university education. In contrast, among active users of the new technology, almost 67% see AI as a great opportunity, compared to only 18.7% among those who have heard of this technology but have never used it.

The survey was conducted on a sample of 800 people from urban areas, aged between 18 and 64, professionally active and internet users. The data was collected between May and June 2025, using the CAWI (Computer Assisted WEB Interviews) method.
