Romanian aerobics gymnasts advanced on Friday to the finals of three events of the Aerobic Gymnastics World Championships in Pesaro (Italy) - specifically in the Trio, Group, and AeroDance competition, inform Agerpres.
The trio of Claudia Ristea, Leonard Manta and Daniel Tavoc managed the highest score in the qualifications, 20.600 points. The male team of Vladut Popa, Madalin Boldea and Antonio Surdu ranked 13th, with 19.200 points.
In the Group qualifications, Vladut Popa, Larisa Suiu, Leonard Manta, Darius Branda and Daniel Tavoc came in second with 20.188 points, after Italy (20.333).
In the AeroDance contest Daria Mihaiu, Claudia Ristea, Larisa Suiu, Mara Dragomir, Antonio Surdu, Darius Branda, Vladut Popa and Madalin Boldea qualified third with a score of 17.350, after Hungary (17.750) and South Korea (17.700).
The three qualifications in Pesaro ensure the athletes their ticket for the 2025 World Games in Chengdu, the most important competition of non-Olympic sports, as the top five qualified athletes/teams secure a berth at the 12th edition of the World Games.
Saturday is set to see the qualifications for aerobics Male Individual and Mixed Pairs, as well as the Trio, Female Individual and Aerobic Step finals.
