The volume of construction works recorded a 10 percent increase, as gross series, in the first ten months of 2025 compared with the same period last year, driven by positive results in capital repair works (+50 percent) and new construction works (+7.7 percent), the National Institute of Statistics (INS) data published on Thursday showed.
According to the quoted source, over the same period, as gross series, maintenance and current repair works also fell by 3.7 percent.
By construction objects, increases were recorded in residential buildings (+12 percent), non-residential buildings (+10.8 percent) and engineering works (+8.9 percent).
At the same time, as adjusted series according to the number of working days and seasonality, the volume of construction works rose by 9.7 percent over ten months, driven by capital repair works (+49.3 percent) and new construction works (+7.9 percent). In contrast, maintenance and current repair works fell by 5.5 percent.
By sector, activity increased in residential buildings and engineering works (both +10.6 percent) and in non-residential buildings (+8.2 percent).
The INS data show that in October 2025 compared with October 2024, the total volume of construction works, as a raw series, rose by 13.8 percent and by structural element, capital repair works increased by 40.1 percent and new construction works by 17.1 percent, while maintenance and current repair works declined by 8.5 percent.
Moreover, by construction objects, growth was reported in non-residential buildings (+33.3 percent), residential buildings (+16.8 percent) and engineering works (+4.6 percent).
As series adjusted according to the number of working days and seasonality, the total volume of construction works increased by 13.3 percent, driven by capital repair works (+45.2 percent) and new construction works (+17.1 percent). Maintenance and current repair works were at the opposite end, declining by 7.7 percent year on year.
At the same time, by construction objects, the volume of construction works increased in non-residential buildings (+33.8 percent), residential buildings (+17.5 percent) and engineering works (+7.5 percent).
In a month-on-month comparison for October-September 2025, the volume of construction works rose by 0.2 percent as gross series, but fell by 2 percent when adjusted according to the number of working days and seasonality.
