Romania's industrial production, down 4.8pct in H1 2023
Romania's industrial production was down 4.8% in H1 2023 unadjusted, y-o-y, on decreases in the production and supply of electricity and thermal energy, gas, steam and air conditioning by 11.2% and the manufacturing industry by 4.2%, show data published on Wednesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS), told Agerpres.
Mining and quarrying grew by 2.9%.
When adjusted for working days and seasonality, Romania's H1 2023 industrial production was lower by 5% than in H1 2022 on decreases in the production and supply of electricity and thermal energy, gas, steam and air conditioning (-11.1%) and the manufacturing industry (-4.2%), while mining and quarrying increased by 2.9%.
June 2023 unadjusted industrial production declined on a monthly basis by 5.8% as a result of decreases in the manufacturing industry (-6.6%), production and supply of electricity and thermal energy, gas, steam and air conditioning (-2.1%) and mining and quarrying (-0.7%).
When adjusted for working days and seasonality, the June 2013 industrial production was down 2.1% on a monthly basis as a result of declines in the manufacturing industry (-3.6%) and production and supply of electricity and thermal energy, gas, heat and air conditioning (-0.9%). On the other hand, mining and quarrying was up 1.6%.
Y-o-y, the unadjusted June 2023 industrial production decreased by 5.9% on decreases in the production and supply of electricity and thermal energy, gas, heat and air conditioning (-9.4%) and the manufacturing industry (-6%). Mining and quarrying grew by 6.3%. When adjusted, it was down 5.5%, as a result of decreases in the production and supply of electricity and thermal energy, gas, steam and air conditioning (-10.1%) and the manufacturing industry (-5, 1%).
