The chairman of the Romanian Teqball Federation, Teodor Luca, stated, on Monday, for Agerpres that the mixed doubles team of Romania, formed by Apor Gyorgydeak and Kinga Barabasi, won the gold medal at the World Teqball Series in Oklahoma and will represent our country at future World Championships.
"Last night, at the World Teqball Series in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in the mixed doubles event, the pair from Romania won the gold medal. The team consists of Apor Gyorgydeak, the world number 1 in the men's singles event, and Barabasi Kinga, the number 4 in the women's singles event. These two will form the couple in the mixed doubles event at the next Teqball Championships, especially since each athlete can participate in a maximum of two events in the Teqball competitions. This is the mixed doubles pair I dream of in two years to represent Romania at international competitions," said Teodor Luca.
Sportswoman Kinga Barabasi is a sports teacher in Targu Mures, plays for AFC Transilvania Targu Mures and is coached by Kristaly Hunor and Arnold Szilagyi, while Apor Gyorgydeak is from Odorheiul Secuiesc and has been world number 1 for two years.
