Rompetrol will inaugurate, in 2026, a number of 13 new fuel distribution stations in Romania, located in areas of interest throughout the country and on high-speed roads, according to a company press release, transmitted to AGERPRES on Monday.
Of these, the first six stations are in various phases of construction, their completion being estimated for April, and their opening for the period June - July.
Company representatives mention that, in these six stations, over 130 new jobs will be created and three multi-product pumps, one high-speed pump and one with AdBlue (a special additive used in diesel engines, to comply with the Euro 6 standard), LPG skids, but also four 150 kW charging stations will be installed at each.
The stations will integrate the "hey" concept, and the effective space on which each gas station will be located is 273 square meters. Thus, two stations are being built in Mures County (Sanpaul locality), on the A3 Highway, a short distance from the city of Targu Mures, which will have 36 parking spaces for cars and 11 parking spaces for heavy-duty vehicles.
Also, work is advanced on the construction of two new stations in Brasov County, on the bypass of the municipality, which have parking capacity for 59 cars and 22 heavy-duty vehicles.
At the same time, two other gas stations are under construction in Suceava Municipality - Suceava Ipotesti (on National Road 2, at the entrance to Suceava) and Suceava Scheia (on the bypass). Together, the two stations have a parking capacity for 50 cars and 20 heavy-duty vehicles.
At the same time, work has begun on seven other new Rompetrol stations in locations across the country - Bucharest Ring Road, Ovidiu (Constanta County), Iasi, Bacau, Timisoara, as well as two stations on the exit/entry route to the Republic of Moldova, through Vama Albita. These will generate another 130 jobs.
"By expanding the range of services and products offered, supported by the possibility of charging electric cars and mobile applications, Rompetrol stations have evolved in the last 15 years, becoming service centers and energy suppliers for customers. The mobile application dedicated to electric charging (Rompetrol EV-Charge*) was recently launched, where the availability, charging speeds and estimated waiting time can be consulted in real time in all charging stations in its own network. In 2023, Rompetrol came up, for the first time in Romania, with a new concept for service spaces on highways, through which it integrated the fuel/AdBlue filling section, fast charging stations for electric cars, parking and relaxation areas, with a generous interior, with surfaces triple the average in other Rompetrol stations," the press release states.
According to the cited source, at the end of the works, the new gas stations will be taken over in operation by Rompetrol Downstream, the retail division of the KMG International Group in Romania.
Rompetrol's distribution segment in Romania included, at the end of September 2025, a number of 1,206 sales points, which exclusively use fuels produced in the largest refinery in Romania - Petromidia Navodari.
