The 16th edition of the Royal Charity Concert, supporting young Romanian artists, will take place on Saturday at 7 p.m. on the stage of the Romanian Athenaeum.
Her Majesty Margareta, Custodian of the Romanian Crown, His Royal Highness Prince Radu, as well as Princess Sofia and Princess Maria, will attend the event.
In addition, the fourth edition of the visual arts exhibition "The Passions and Pursuits of the Royal Family", created by young visual artists - 2025 scholarship recipients - under the guidance of associate professor Dr Ion Anghel, will be on display in the Athenaeum's Rotunda.
This year's Royal Concert will feature mezzo-soprano Ramona Zaharia and tenor George Virban (a Young Talents scholar between 2013 and 2015), who will bring to the Athenaeum stage the magic of opera, the charm of youth and the spirit of generosity. They will perform alongside the New Hope Orchestra, conducted by David Crescenzi, and the Romanian National Choir, conducted by Daniel Jinga, according to the Royal House.
The evening's programme includes famous arias and duets from works by Giuseppe Verdi, Georges Bizet, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Charles Gounod, Agustin Lara and Ruperto Chapí.
Funds raised from the gala event will support the 2026 edition of the Young Talents programme, which assists promising young artists with limited financial means by offering scholarships, mentorship and promotion throughout the year.
The event has been organised annually since 2008.
