Royal House: King Mihai burial ceremony to be officiated in Curtea de Arges Monastery Cathedral

The burial ceremony of King Mihai I will be officiated on Saturday in the Curtea de Arges Monastery Cathedral, after the coffin will be carried in a procession to the new Archbishopric and Royal Cathedral nearby, where the tomb is located, His Majesty's Press Office announced.

According to a press release sent to AGERPRES, on Saturday, at 14:40, the Royal Train with King Mihai's body and the Crown Custodian and members of the Royal Family of Romania will leave the Baneasa Royal Station.

The Royal Train will arrive at 17:30 in Curtea de Arges Station, where the press and public will be allowed access.

The funeral convoy will then go from the station to the Archbishopric and Royal Cathedral.

At 17:50, the burial ceremony will take place in the Curtea de Arges Monastery Cathedral. At 18:20 the coffin will be carried in a walking procession to the new Archbishopric and Royal Cathedral, where the burial religious service will take place at 18:40.

The media will not be allowed inside the two buildings before or during the two funeral ceremonies.

The new Cathedral cannot be visited seven days after the funeral.
