The Romanian-Ukrainian pair Gabriela Ruse/Marta Kostiuk advanced on Sunday to the Round of 16 of the women's doubles at the Wimbledon tennis tournament, after defeating the Iana Sizikova (Russia)/Yafan Wang (China), 6-4, 6-4.
Ruse and her partner prevailed after one hour and 21 minutes.
Ruse and Kostiuk, who reached the second round of last year's Grand Slam last year, will play in the round of 16 against number two seeds Gabriela Dabrowski (Canada)/Erin Routliffe (New Zealand), who won in the second round against Irina Hromaceva/Kamila Rahimova (Russia) 7-6 (7/4), 3-6, 7-5.
The Romanian-Ukrainian pair secured a check worth 42,000 pounds and 240 WTA doubles points.
