Strengthening bilateral cooperation between Romania and Israel at parliamentary level and within supreme audit institutions were key topics discussed on Wednesday by the President of the Senate, Mircea Abrudean, during his meeting with the State Comptroller and Ombudsman of the State of Israel, Matanyahu Englman, who is on an official visit to Romania.
"The discussions focused on key aspects of strengthening bilateral cooperation between Romania and Israel, both at parliamentary level and within supreme audit institutions, emphasising technological advancement, optimisation of public sector operations, and the exchange of experience and best practices. The meeting is set against the backdrop of the Office of the State Comptroller and Ombudsman of Israel currently holding the presidency of the European Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (EUROSAI) until 2027," the Senate's Facebook page reported.
Mircea Abrudean emphasised that "audit activity should underpin economic growth and societal development across all sectors, not only finance - education, construction, climate change, taxation."
"We need to adapt to the realities we are facing, and accurate data, concrete examples, and figures will all help us present investors with the opportunities our country offers," he added.
The meeting was also attended by the President of the Court of Accounts, Mirela Calugareanu.
