Senate Speaker Mircea Abrudean believes that if Romania manages to have a law on magistrates' pensions enacted by the end of the year, the money from the PNRR "can be saved".
"The Senate is prepared for the Government 's pledging responsibility for the bill on magistrates' pensions as early as next week. If Romania, with the participation of all its institutions, manages to have a law on magistrates' pensions enacted by the end of the year, the money from the PNRR can be saved. Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan has moved forward with this reform, requested and awaited by Romanians, to eliminate social inequities. The time has come for it to be assumed, understood and put into practice", Abrudean wrote on Facebook on Friday.
The joint plenary session of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate, in which the Government is to pledge responsibility for the bill on the pensions of magistrates, will take place on Tuesday afternoon.
Parliamentarians can submit amendments to the draft law adopted by the Government until Tuesday at 8:00.
The Minister of Investments and European Projects, Dragos Pislaru, stated, on November 20, during the briefing at the end of the Government session, that Romania will submit on November 28, by 12 midnight, in the IT system for collaboration with the European Commission, a letter in which it will present the steps it has taken to meet the suspension of the milestone regarding special pensions, without there being a guarantee that our country will recover the 231 million euros.
