Romania's constant support for Georgia's European journey was highlighted on Wednesday by the interim Chairman of the Romanian Senate, Mircea Abrudean, at the meeting with a delegation of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Georgian Parliament, led by Nikoloz Samkharadze.
Discussions focused on strengthening parliamentary cooperation and deepening bilateral relations between Romania and Georgia.
Abrudean said that Romania remains firmly committed to keeping up an active and continuous bilateral dialogue, which significantly contributes to the development of political, economic and cultural relations between the two nations.
"Our discussions focused on strengthening the ties between Romania and Georgia and on our constant support for Georgia's European journey and stability in the Black Sea region. In the context of developments in Ukraine, I voiced hope that peace will be restored soon. We also discussed deepening technical cooperation in order to implement major connectivity projects in the Black Sea region, including the green energy corridor' and the submarine cable that will connect Romania to Georgia, Azerbaijan and Hungary.
