Senator Clement Sava, Secretary of the Senate Foreign Policy Committee, announced that the PACE - Romania First Group unreservedly supports the initiative of US President Donald Trump regarding the establishment of the Peace Council, considering that PEACE IS THE ABSOLUTE PRIORITY in today's world.

Clement Sava made an appeal on behalf of the Senate Peace Group to all political forces to support the PACE Council initiated by US President Donald Trump.

"Romania cannot be absent from the decision-making table for peace, and the Peace Council is Romania's chance to maintain its geostrategic relevance.

That is why the PACE - Romania First Parliamentary Group welcomes and fully and unconditionally supports the initiative of the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, to establish the Peace Council, as well as the official invitation addressed to Romania to be part of this major international endeavor", Senator Clement Sava told the press.

He added that this initiative represents an act of genuine global leadership, at a time when the world is marked by armed conflicts, geopolitical tensions and dramatic human losses.

"In an international context too often dominated by escalation, aggressive rhetoric and military solutions, President Trump's initiative brings peace back to where it should be: at the center of political decision-making.

For the PACE Group - Romania First, peace is not a slogan or an image tool. Peace is a political responsibility, a moral duty towards citizens, towards nations and towards future generations. Therefore, we state clearly and unequivocally: we are on the side of peace, without ambiguity and without conditioning.

The invitation addressed to Romania to participate in the Peace Council is a recognition of our strategic position and potential to contribute to stability, dialogue and sustainable solutions. Romania has the duty to respond to this invitation with responsibility, dignity and political courage. Sitting at the peace table is an honor, but also an obligation", says the Secretary of the Senate Foreign Policy Committee.

"The PACE Group – Romania First believes that Romania's active involvement in such a Council represents a real chance to promote:

• conflict resolution through dialogue and negotiation,

• respect for human life,

• regional and global security,

• cooperation between sovereign states based on the common interest of peace.

We firmly support the vision that peace is not built by prolonging conflicts, but through political will, leadership and the courage to say stop to violence. President Donald Trump's initiative goes exactly in this direction and deserves the support of all states that understand the gravity of the historical moment we are going through", Clement Sava added.

The PACE Group thus made a public appeal to all responsible political forces in Romania to overcome petty calculations and support Romania's participation in this Peace Council because in the face of war, death and instability, unity around peace must be stronger than any political difference.

"The PACE Group – Romania First reaffirms its clear commitment:

Romania must be on the side of peace.

Romania must be part of the solution.

Romania must choose life, not conflict.

This is our political position. Asserted. Public. Unequivocal", Senator Clement Sava also points out.
