Senator Irineu Darau, the Save Romania Union's (USR) nominee for the Ministry of Economy, Digitalisation, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, says his mandate would focus on unlocking economic potential, supporting entrepreneurs, and attracting investment.
With regard to digitalisation, Darau urged all state institutions, in a message, to "move from words to deeds, because without real and efficient digitalisation we lose an enormous amount of potential, resources and public money."
"I thank my colleagues for their trust and for the validation vote granted today in the USR Political Committee. I am very pleased for Radu Miruta, who will also become Deputy Prime Minister. I thank him for the effort and the results at the Ministry of Economy, Digitalisation, Entrepreneurship and Tourism. We will form a strong team and I commit to continuing his projects and performances. I am aware of the huge responsibility I am taking on and I will put all my strength at the service of the people and the Romanian economy. I intend to make decisions that unlock economic potential, encourage entrepreneurs and attract investment," he wrote on Facebook.
Irineu Darau further says that this government has the duty to put the state back on a sound fiscal and budgetary footing and at the same time to open up the front of future development.
"I am glad to be able to shoulder the construction effort. I want us to set and achieve concrete objectives. I do not want us to waste time on sterile quarrels and political games, because people expect simple things from us: to work honestly and deliver results for Romanians. Nothing else! Last but not least, precisely for economic development and for the resilience of democracy, I will continue to advocate the fundamental importance of education and human capital," said Irineu Darau, who is set to take over the Ministry of Economy.
On Friday, the USR Political Committee validated the nomination of Radu Miruta to the Ministry of National Defence and of Irineu Darau to the Ministry of Economy, Digitalisation, Entrepreneurship and Tourism.
