The Romanian tennis player Simona Halep, world #2, has qualified on Saturday to the final of the WTA USD 2,536,154-tournament in Cincinnati (Ohio), after nailing the American Sloane Stephens 6-2 6-1.
Halep (25 year-old) will become the women's world leader for the first time if winning to Garbine Muguruza (Spain) in the final.
Halep has categorically dominated the semifinal against Stephens (24 year-old, WTA #151), winning in only 55 minutes.
In the final, Simona Halep will face Garbine Muguruza (23 year-old, WTA #6), who defeated in the semifinals the world leader Karolina Pliskova (Czech Republic) 6-3 6-2.
Halep secured a USD 260,970 cheque and 585 WTA points.
