Tennis champion Simona Halep is urging drivers to stay attentive behind the wheel and avoid using their mobile phones while driving.

"It's a pleasure to be in Cluj and I congratulate the initiators of this project, which is important for all of us, for staying safe on the roads. I love driving and I haven't had any accidents in more than 10 years. We need to be much more careful, leave the phone aside - we all have this tendency - and stay fully focused. That's important both for ourselves and for others. Driving means responsibility," Halep said at the CARS Talks conference, 'Driving Means Responsibility', part of the CARS responsibility campaign: Drive Attentively, Responsibly and Safely, which promotes road safety and education for young people.

The CARS campaign is a civic initiative launched by SAVU RACING Sports Club in partnership with the CARS Academy Association, aiming to build a culture of responsibility behind the wheel and reduce road accidents through awareness, education and community involvement.

The campaign targets young people aged 16 to 25 in schools and universities, offering a new approach to road-safety education: instead of talking about accidents, it shows them; instead of theory, it places participants in simulations where they can experience what a single second of inattention means.

Launched by Laura Savu and Horatiu Savu on November 11, 2025 in Cluj-Napoca, the campaign marks the beginning of a national movement dedicated to road safety and responsible driving. Its goal is to turn preventive education into a real, memorable experience for participants.

"Through the activities we run in the CARS campaign, we focus on awareness and responsibility, giving participants access to driving simulators that illustrate the real consequences of inattention in traffic, all in maximum safety conditions. We bring young people face-to-face with reality - we put them behind the wheel, flip them upside down, and show them how little separates a blink from a tragedy," said Horatiu Savu.
