Simone Tempestini ranks first in the 2016 season of the Dunlop National Rally Championship after winning the last stage of the CN, by winning the Perla Harghitei Rally.
Tempestini, who had ensured his second consecutive national champion title has got the victory after the last special stage, although he had never led the race by then.
The Junior WRC world champion and his teammate, Marc Banca, both with the Napoca Rally Academy, on a Citroen DS3 finished the race in 01 h 06 min 29 sec 7/10, according to the Romanian Federation of Sports Motoring website.
Second came Dan Girtofan/Tudor Marza (Skoda Fabia R5), 01 h 07 min 08 sec 9/10, and third Edwin Keleti/Anton Avram (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X), 01 h 08 min 00 sec 3/10.
Tempestini won four special stages (Bucin, Valeni 2, Sanpaul 2, Lueta 2), Gergo Szabo one special stage (Liban), and Dan Girtofan won other three special stages (Valeni 3, Sanpaul 3, Lueta 3).
The top stayed unchanged, with Simone Tempestini first, followed by Dan Girtofan and Edwin Keleti.
Tempestini Jr. has adjudicated in 2016 as many as six victories, in the Tess Rally 45 Pro X, the Kia Arad Rally, the Danube Delta Rally, the Transylvania Rally, the Iasi Cotnari Rally and the Perla Harghitei Rally, Dan Girtofan won the Sibiu Rally, while Gergo Szabo went victor in Moldova Rally.
