Deputy Marian Neacsu (Social Democrat Party - PSD, Ialomita County), a quaestor of the Chamber of Deputies and secretary general of the PSD, was sentenced to a 6-month suspended prison term on Tuesday by the High Court of Cassation and Justice (ICCJ, Romania's Supreme Court) for conflict of interests, consisting in the illegal hiring of his own daughter in his constituency office.
The court also ruled a two years and six months probation term.
The ICCJ thus admitted the prosecution's appeal against a lower court sentence who only fined Neacsu 2,000 lei. AGERPRES
