Nobody can guarantee that the fatality that occurred in Bucharest's Colectiv Club cannot repeat anywhere in the country, on Sunday told agerpres the secretary of state with the Home Affairs (MAI), Raed Arafat in eastern city of Piatra Neamt.
When asked whether the prevention system of emergency situations has improved after the said tragedy, Raed Arafat answered yes, but added that "a 100pct prevention exists nowhere in the world."
"Such disasters could never be guaranteed to never happening. Any situation could happen, anywhere in the country. Certain contributing factors could aggregate to lead to an incident or disaster. Our role is to do whatever possible to prevent such thing. A 100pct prevention doesn't exist, no one could ever guarantee that a fatality could not occur. Any tragedy could repeat, yet in another form, not necessarily in identical copy. Should we take a look at the world, the USA, Belgium, the Netherlands have had similar tragedies with our Colectiv fatality, and some have had repeated tragedies. The measures taken lately are for reducing this risk and probability," doctor Raed Arafat told AGERPRES.
Raed Arafat also said that in case of a fatal calamity, such as an earthquake, with multiple casualties, patients are considered to be transferred to other non-affected counties.
The number of the persons who lost their lives in the tragedy that occurred on October 30 in Bucharest Colectiv club fire reached 64.
