National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics - ICI Bucharest hosted the visit of an official delegation from Nigeria, a state interested in the development of bilateral cooperation in the field of information technology and communication (IT&C), informs ICI Bucharest in a press release sent on Wednesday to AGERPRES.

According to the cited source, the meeting emphasized the commitment of both parties to strengthen international partnerships in the IT sector and to promote digital innovation. The visit provided a favorable framework for the exchange of experiences and best practices regarding the digital transformation of the public administration, the security of the cyber infrastructure and the development of innovative solutions aimed at supporting the digital evolution at the government level.

"We are honored to receive this delegation and to explore new opportunities for collaboration in the field of IT&C. ICI Bucharest has extensive experience and is the IT cooperation hub for the Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa region since 2018, so we are happy to we share our expertise, contributing to the development of a strategic partnership with Nigeria", said Adrian-Victor Vevera, the general director of ICI Bucharest, in the press release.

Among the topics discussed during the meeting were: solutions for the digitalization of public administration, with an emphasis on improving the efficiency and accessibility of public services through technology, cyber security, an area of major interest in the context of global cyber threats, where ICI Bucharest presented solutions for the protection of critical infrastructure, education and training of IT specialists, focused on the development of digital skills necessary to face the challenges of the digital age.

The Nigerian delegation emphasized the interest in continuing the long-term collaboration, through bilateral partnerships that facilitate the transfer of technology and know-how. This visit is part of a series of initiatives aimed at strengthening international cooperation and promoting innovative solutions in digitization and cyber security, the release informs.
