The prefect of Suceava County, Traian Andronachi, instructed non-governmental organizations involved in supporting the victims of the disaster in the city of Brosteni to stop collecting food or water, but only money to support the locals in rebuilding their homes.

He declared on Thursday, in a press conference, that 75 tons of food from the Government had arrived in Broşteni, so that the food of the disaster-stricken population is assured.

"People don't need water anymore, because we managed. They don't need food anymore, because we received 75 tons from the Romanian Government. People don't need equipment anymore, because here we are united people. We currently have over 200 pieces of equipment, which are in the field. We don't need diesel either. The Romanian Government approved an impressive quantity of 60 tons and didn't cut a single liter. We still need money. These people here need money to rebuild their lives and to rebuild their homes. I take advantage of this opportunity and address all NGOs that want to collect products. Stop collecting products! There is no need for food, there is no need for water," the prefect said.
