The Department for Sustainable Development, within the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, and the eMag platform announce the conclusion of a collaboration protocol through which they undertake to familiarize as many people as possible with sustainability issues through the tools available to the online retailer, says a press release from the Department, sent to AGERPRES on Tuesday.
According to the source, eMag clients from Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Timisoara, Craiova and Pitesti can learn about the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, adopted by the United Nations in 2015, through the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development, through the easybox infrastructure developed by the courier company Sameday. Thus, the symbols of these objectives can be found together with a QR code that refers to a web page where anyone who wants to know more can get information, told Agerpres.
Currently, the easybox network has more than 3,600 units throughout the country, of which 31 are energy autonomous, being equipped with photovoltaic panels. Through the autonomous lockers, Sustainable Development Goals 7 and 13, which refer to clean energy and climate action, are promoted.
A public opinion barometer conducted this summer shows that half of the citizens have heard of the idea of sustainable development, but only one in three respondents claims that they know what it means.
Romanian company founded in 2001, eMag became, in 2022, the most valuable Romanian brand and the first e-commerce company to occupy the first place in the Brand Finance ranking.
