Russian Anastasia Potapova and Italian Lucia Bronzetti qualified for the final of the Transylvania Open tennis tournament (WTA 250), taking place in Cluj-Napoca and giving prizes accounting for a total of 275,094 US dollars.
Potapova, seed no. 1, defeated Belarusian Aleksandra Sasnovici, ''lucky loser,' in the semifinals, 6-3, 7-5, after one hour and 36 minutes of paying. Potapova played her second semifinal in Cluj-Napoca, after the one in 2022, lost to the future champion, her compatriot Ana Blinkova.
In the other semifinal, Bronzetti took advantage of the abandonment of Czech Katerina Siniakova, after only four games (4-0).
Potapova has two WTA titles and three other finals, while Bronzetti has won one title and lost two other finals.
