Tennis players Sorana Cirstea and Emma Raducanu to play final of Transylvania Open (WTA)

The final of the Transylvania Open (WTA 250) tennis tournament, with total prizes of 283,347 dollars and hosted by BTarena in Cluj-Napoca, will be played between Romanian Sorana Cirstea and British Emma Raducanu.

Cirstea (35 years old, no. 36 WTA), the third seed, managed an easy victory, 6-0, 6-3 versus Ukrainian Daria Snigur (23 years old, no. 144 WTA), after only 56 minutes.

In contrast, Emma Raducanu, the main seed, had a tough match versus Ukrainian revelation Oleksandra Olinikova, whom she defeated 7-5, 3-6, 6-3, after almost three hours of play (2 h 48 min).

Raducanu (23 years old, no. 30 WTA) won her only direct match with Cirstea, in 2021, at Wimbledon, in the third round, 6-3, 7-5.

The two finalists each secured 22,125 dollars and 163 WTA points.

Kamila Rahimova (Uzbekistan) and Sara Sorribes Tormo (Spain) qualified for the doubles final, after 6-2, 6-7 (6/8), 11-9 with the pair Veronika Erjavec (Slovenia)/Tiantsoa Rakotomanga Rajaonah.
