Tenor Jonas Kaufmann to perform for the first time in Romania on Thursday

Tenor Jonas Kaufmann, unanimously acclaimed by critics and the public as the greatest tenor of our time, will perform for the first time in Romania, on Thursday, at Sala Palatului/Palace Hall, in the capital city Bucharest.

According to the website salapalatului.ro, the artist will be accompanied by the Valahia Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Jochen Rieder.

The show is part of the "Nobility of Sound" series, organised by the team that brought legendary figures of classical music to Bucharest, such as tenor Placido Domingo and soprano Angela Gheorghiu.

With an impressive career spanning more than two decades, Jonas Kaufmann has become synonymous with excellence in the world of opera. Born in Munich, Germany, Kaufmann has captivated international audiences with his extraordinary talent, impeccable technique and ability to convey a rare emotional intensity, the organisers of the show highlight.

The artist has collaborated with the most prestigious musical institutions in the world - La Scala in Milan, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Vienna State Opera, the Royal Opera House in London and the Bayreuth Festival.

Kaufmann is also renowned for his versatility, shining equally in the Italian and German repertoire, with roles as diverse as Otello, Tristan, Tannhauser, Radames in Aida, Cavaradossi in Tosca and Siegmund in Die Walkure.
