The three-month ROBOR index, based on which the cost of consumer loans in lei with variable interest is calculated, fell on Monday to 6.06% per year, from 6.10% per year in the previous session, according to data published by the National Bank of Romania (BNR).
At the beginning of last year, the index was 5.92% per year.
The six-month index, used in calculating interest rates on mortgage loans in lei with variable interest, reached 6.17% per year, from 6.23% on Friday, and the 12-month ROBOR fell to 6.40% from 6.44%.
The reference index for consumer loans (IRCC), regulated by GEO 19/2019, is 5.68% per year, being calculated as the arithmetic average of the daily interest rates of interbank transactions in the third quarter of 2025.
