The 25th edition of the TimOrgelFest International Organ Festival brings to the Timisoara public, between October 9 and 31, world-famous artists and unforgettable sound moments, in the most beautiful churches of the city, with nine concerts in various reference locations of the city: The Roman Catholic Dome, historic churches and the Orpheum Hall of the Faculty of Music and Theatre.
The festival opens on October 9, at the Roman Catholic Cathedral in Timisoara, with an extraordinary recital of the French organist Jean-Baptiste Monnot, owner of the famous Cavaille-Coll organ at the Church of St Ouen in Rouen, according to the TimOrgelFest Cultural Association.
During this jubilee edition, the public will enjoy recitals and unique concerts, with guest artists from France, Italy, Switzerland and Greece, who will perform solo organ recitals, unique combinations of flute and marimba, organ and saxophone, organ and piano, as well as also an organ and trumpet concert, with artists of international prestige.
The artistic agenda also includes recitals held by the students of the Timisoara Faculty of Music and Theatre, as well as vocal and instrumental concerts that will bring a special sound and stylistic variety to the jubilee edition.
TimOrgelFest promises that this jubilee edition will be a true celebration of organ music and a moment of reference in the cultural life of Timisoara, celebrating 25 years of artistic excellence, tradition and emotion.
The recitals will be staged in the Roman Catholic Dome in Timisoara (on October 9, 28 and 30), St Catherine's Roman Catholic Church (October 12), in the Orpheum Hall of the Faculty of Music and Theatre (October 14 and 26), in the Church of the Elevation of the Holy Piarist Cross (October 19), the Roman Catholic Church of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus (October 21), the Bethany Adventist Church of Timisoara (October 27).
The TimOrgelFest International Festival is organised by the Timorgelfest Cultural Association and financed by the Municipality of Timisoara from the Timisoara Project Centre.
