President Klaus Iohannis will host on Friday at the Cotroceni Palace a meeting with Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca and Cabinet members on the management of the COVID-19 epidemic.

Minister of the Interior Lucian Bode, Health Minister Alexandru Rafila, Secretary of State with the Ministry of the Interior Raed Arafat, and Secretary of State with the Health Ministry Adriana Pistol will attend.

The Health Ministry proposed the adoption of several restriction easing measures after the steady decrease of all pandemic indicators, Minister Alexandru Rafila announced at a press conference on Tuesday.

"Obviously, the mask will no longer be used outdoors, but remains mandatory in closed public spaces and is recommended in crowded open spaces as well," the Health Minister said, Agerpres.ro informs.

Another relaxation measure could be the elimination of the COVID certificate requirement for entry to shopping malls, public institutions, hotels and restaurants.

Public transport disinfection and hygiene precautions will be kept in place.

The Health Ministry further recommends maintaining the remote work program and the staggered work schedule in central and local public institutions.
