The volume of turnover in retail trade went up 10 pct as gross series in the first nine months of the year, as compared to the same interval of 2016, due to the increase in the sales of non-food products, show data of the National Institute of Statistics (INS) released on Monday.
January through September 2017, the turnover in retail trade (except of motor vehicles and motorcycles), as adjusted series by the number of working days and seasonality, increased by 8.8 pct, especially due to the positive results of non-food products sales (+13.1 pct), the retail trade of fuels for vehicles in specialized stores (+11.4 pct) and the growth in sales of food, beverages and tobacco (+4.6 pct).
On the other hand, the volume of turnover as gross series increased by 9.8 pct in the first nine months of this year, due to non-food products' sales (+12.5 pct), the retail trade of fuels for vehicles in specialized stores (+11.8 pct) and the growth in sales of food, beverages and tobacco (+5.6 pct).
