Ukraine will no longer rebuild schools in regions depopulated as a result of the war, says head of the State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development Serhii Sukhomlyn.

According to him, in many regions of Ukraine, particularly those on the border with Russia, the population has fled and demographic indicators are worrying.

"The war has changed Ukraine very much, it has changed the demographic data, it has changed the logistical map, the economic map. Today, if we take as examples the cities of Chernihiv or Sumy, we do not need to rebuild so many schools because we will no longer have children for these schools. Here we must be very cautious. Compared with what we planned to rebuild in the first two years of the war, today priorities are changing and investments in energy and logistics will be key priorities," the government official in Kyiv told AGERPRES.

He underlined that, from the perspective of public expenditure, after four years of war, the priority is the financing of the Ukrainian Army.
