"The University of Bucharest has the best performances at the level of Romanian higher education in terms of social and economic impact, according to the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2021, one of the best known rankings in the global academic space. According to the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2021, the University of Bucharest (UB) is positioned in the 301-400 margin, out of 1,115 participating institutions, proving, once again, its adherence to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals", informs a press release of the higher education institution.

According to the quoted source, UB appears in 8 categories out of the 17 analyzed, standing out in areas such as "Quality Education", "Gender Equality", "Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions", "Reduced Inequalities" and "Decent Work and Economic Growth". Thus, the University of Bucharest ranks 44th out of 966 institutions in the "Quality Education" category and 38th out of 776 institutions in the "Gender Equality" category, while in the "Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions" category it ranks in the margins 101-200, and in the fields "Reduced Inequalities" and "Decent Work and Economic Growth", UB falls within the margin 201-300, agerpres.ro confirms.

"In detail, the results of the University of Bucharest position the institution as the first university in Romania in the categories of" Quality Education "," Gender Equality "and" Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions", states the same source.

The criteria according to which higher education institutions are classified in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings are based on the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The hierarchy highlights the impact of universities on society, based on their success in achieving goals such as "Good Health and Wellbeing", "Gender Equality", "Decent Work and Economic Growth", "Reduced Inequalities" or "Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions", "Partnership for the Goals".

According to the same source, in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2021, the University of Bucharest is followed, in the margin 401-600, by two other member universities of the Universitaria Consortium: "Babes-Bolyai" University of Cluj-Napoca and the Academy of Economic Studies from Bucharest, as well as by the Polytechnic University of Bucharest.
