President Nicusor Dan stressed in London on Wednesday that the urgency is for Romania to have a state budget for next year, and this will be in a deficit of "a little over 6%.''
"It's not good that we are on December 17 and we don't even have the draft budget. We were supposed to have the budget on December 31. So, the urgency for the coalition is to present the budget for 2026 and the budget for 2026, as I know, as I trust it will be, will enter a deficit maybe a little over 6, but in any case it will demonstrate to partners and, especially, to the financial market that Romania is serious and respects its commitments regarding the deficit", he declared in London.
The head of state confessed that he has "every hope" that the referendum in Bucharest will be transposed into law.
"The referendum had three questions, two proposed by me: one on money, one on urban planning. For now, the closest discussion is the one on the urban planning code and here I have hope that it will be transposed", added the president.
