USR wants to discuss with 30,000 citizens by March to see population's priorities

The Save Romania Union (USR) launched on Sunday the programme "USR is your voice!", which aims to discuss with over 30,000 people in the next three months to see what the expectations of the citizens from the political class are.

"It is a project through which we try to discuss nationwide with the citizens, with the present and the future electorate about Romania and what the citizens expect from the new and young political class have to discuss with the citizens of the whole country. Presently, the USR really represents the new political class and through this project, which has started in all the branches in the country today, our members are trying to fill in a questionnaire on a formula - to say similar to what happened in France (...) - to get as much real information as possible. In all of Europe, the tendency of people to become party members is dramatically decreasing. "The general trend of the current active generation is to support projects, ideas, punctual initiatives, no matter who the back engine is, and these questionnaires do not imply the obligation to become a member, but entail precisely the willingness to help with this initiative," said USR Chair Dan Barna.

In the context in which the debate on the USR doctrine was discussed several times, Dan Barna said that this could be clarified in the next two months.

"The matter of doctrine is a topic we are very aware of. In my programme I said I see a doctrinal defining in the next period. In two months probably we will have a message for the doctrinal clarification," he said.

Deputy Cristian Ghinea announced that several hundred questionnaires were filled in on Sunday in several cities throughout the country in spite of the rainy weather.

"We are trying to prioritize these ideas. We will add a unique database in Romania - we are talking about 30,000 potential supporters, people who have not refused to talk to USR," Ghinea said.

The programme was launched one year after the USR entered Parliament.
