Visual artists Vinczeffy Laszla and Uto Gusztav will receive the 'Haromszek for Culture' award on Thursday, Hungarian Culture Day. The distinction, granted by the Covasna County Council, honours personalities whose work has significantly contributed to the Hungarian cultural heritage in Transylvania and beyond.
The award ceremony will take place at 6:00 pm at the Bod Peter County Library in Sfantu Gheorghe, agerpres reports.
Hungarian Culture Day, celebrated annually on January 22, is an occasion to honour Hungarian literature, art, and traditions, as well as cultural dialogue. In Sfantu Gheorghe, Targu Secuiesc, Baraolt, and Covasna, events will include exhibitions, concerts, performances, and public meetings.
The Szekler National Museum in Sfantu Gheorghe will host an open-door day, offering free access to permanent exhibitions from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. Exhibitions include 'Mrs. Cserey - 200 - We Are Reborn!' on museum founder Cserey Zathureczky Emilia, 'The Geniuses Behind the Heroes' on the 1848-1849 Hungarian Revolution in Covasna County, and 'Landmarks', a selection of objects illustrating the cultural identity of the Szekely community.
