Wizz Air, one of Europe's leading low-cost airlines, has once again been ranked among the top 50 safest airlines in the world and among the top ten safest low-cost airlines globally, according to Airline Ratings, the global authority on airline safety, product quality and passenger reviews.

"At Wizz Air, safety is the foundation of every decision we make. This recognition from Airline Ratings reflects our strong safety culture, the professionalism of our people, and our continuous investment into training, modern aircraft, and operational discipline. Our reliable performance in challenging winter conditions further demonstrates the strength of our procedures. Being recognised among the world's safest airlines again - and ranked so highly among global low-cost carriers - reinforces our commitment to operational excellence. We are grateful to our exceptional colleagues for their outstanding work and to Airline Ratings for this recognition," said Wizz Air CEO Josef Varadi, quoted in a company statement.

Airline Ratings evaluates carriers across a range of criteria, including fleet age and size, pilot training and expertise, incident history, and other relevant factors.

"Wizz Air has again demonstrated strong performance, earning a place in the top 10 where margins between operators remain extremely tight," said Sharon Petersen, CEO of Airline Ratings. "Their low average fleet age and favourable incident rate, particularly when benchmarked against total take-offs and landings, are notable. We look forward to closer engagement with Wizz Air in 2026 to further explore their safety initiatives and operational framework."

All Wizz Air flights are operated with 180-seat Airbus A320, 186-seat A320neo, 230-seat A321 and 239-seat Airbus A321neo aircraft. Wizz Air was the preferred choice of 63.4 million passengers in the financial year 2025. The carrier is listed on the London Stock Exchange with the abbreviation "WIZZ". Also, Wizz Air was named "Most Sustainable Low-Cost Airline" by the World Finance Sustainability Awards for five consecutive years, 2021 through 2025.
